Patty Hurwitz

I live in Kansas with my husband.  We have three children and three grandchildren.  I have been stitching since I was in my teens.  I taught myself to crochet when I was about 10 then knit.  I also attempted some quilting before I discovered cross stitch.  I have always done "compilation" designing, which is using portions of designs I have purchased and combining them into stitched gifts for friends and family.  In 2003, a couple of friends decided to start a hand-dyed fabric company.  When they produced their first colors, they suggested that I come up with some small designs to introduce their fabric, and away I went!.  I had been toying with painting needlepoint canvas.  Yule was a design I was working on in that format. 

With all of the beautiful over-dyed threads and fabric, inspiration is easy to come by, but difficult to keep up with.  I prefer not to be defined by one style of design.  I realize that this can be a handicap, but there are too many subjects to be limited!  Thank you for visiting my website.  Let me know if you have any questions.
